inThere is not a zealous Christian in this room who feels content with his effectiveness in personal evangelism. […] One of the most freeing things is to simply get this out on the table and admit it. And then to notice that it is the universal experience even of the most devoted servants of Christ. […] My dream is that we as a church would be freed from the paralyzing effects of guilt in regard to personal evangelism. That all of us would find some natural outlet for love toward the lost people in this city. […] That our personal sense of the reality of Christ would be so deep and confident and satisfying that we could scarcely keep from commending him to others. And that the power of Christ would rest upon us with unusual effectiveness.

inWe needed something fun to do:
Insert my Pinterest Board for Kids (seriously- so helpful to have ideas to entertain my kids at the flip of a hat).
So we made this easy peasy recipe AND I added Lavender Oil because if I’m kneeding my hands in something- it might as well be soothing.
Here’s the handle:
Mix all the ingredients (minus essential oil) into a pan and blend with a whisk.
When all ingredients are blended, place the pan on the stove on medium to medium-high heat.
You will need to mix continually until the mixture thickens. It may take 3 to 4 minutes.
When the mixture starts to clump and is difficult to mix, take the pan off the stove.
Pour the dough on a floured surface and when it is cool enough to handle start kneading like bread dough.
Remove from the floured surface when the dough is no longer sticky. Knead away from the floured surface until all the flour on the dough is absorbed and the dough is smooth and pliable.
Then, add a drop or two of your essential oil and kneed in.
You’re done!

inSome of the University of Aberdeen student families coordinated a easter egg hunt for the kids to enjoy. They also collected Ressurection Eggs which explained the story of the importance of Easter in each egg. We are celebrating that Christ is Risen! A lovely time for all!

inI would love to learn how to pray more efficiently and teach my children to do the same. To be vulnerable: I want to stop telling people I will pray for them, and then forget (or pray for them once or twice at best).
I ran across this idea to use pop-sicle sticks to write down your family’s prayer requests. Each meal time we let Augustine pick out one or two of the sticks and pray over the requests he chose. I love it.
Here are some other ideas of things to pray for from Lindsay at Passionate Homemaking Blog:
Grandparents, Relatives
Leadership in our church
Our City
Our President
Our neighborhood
Sick friends or family
Members in our community group
Our sponsored children
Non-Christian friends we are seeking to show the love of Christ to
Other charity organizations we give to: Pregnancy Resource Center, Orphan home in India, Wycliffe Bible Translators, etc
Persecuted Church around the World
Human Trafficking
Ministries in our church
Thanks for reading!

inShaun has been working really hard his thesis recently. So we decided to demonstrate our excitement for his diligence.
To celebrate, I made Shaun a pumpkin pie (he has been asking for one) with molasses brown sugar. It was divine….
Please pray for us as Shaun wraps up his writing in the next few months and begins to incorporate revisions from his supervisor. We are so proud of him for his hard work!
