inSome of our aunts and uncles were kind enough to ship us a package of presents to make sure they arrived before Christmas. A little note inside said that we were free to open them now instead of waiting- so we did, and what fun we had!
I received a glue gun and glue sticks (so handy!) and a fun apron with monogramming that said, “Joy’s Kitchen”- I love it! Shaun received a gift card. And the kids opened lovely clothes, toys, and books! Here’s some pictures and videos to show the occasion.
Thanks again aunt pat, uncle eddie and sandy and sonny- we love you!

inJared Wilson states, “This is what it means to live a gospel-saturated life: it means being so conscious of the greatness of the gospel that changing diapers or cutting the grass is as much an act of worship as singing a praise chorus in a church service.” Continue reading

inAugustine has recently enjoyed playing with fire trucks. We also enjoy singing this song when we play….
I honestly actually like the song too… [insert confession of my personal dislike for most nursery rhyme songs]

inI just saw this and wish I would have known about it for my two children. Imagine how much better my babies’ reaction could have been if I had waited a mere 2 minutes. One of my friends recently discussed this topic by saying,
If you consider how very rich the placenta and cord blood are… how they are liquid GOLD to doctors who do research on disease, and how they frequently carry the life saving T-cells that can save an ill child or her sibling, then how can ANYONE not want every last bit of that nutrient dense placental goodness to be transferred to the most fragile of people? I attribute a lot of my children’s initial weight gain, nursing success and long term health to this very simple and basic practice.
Have you been able experience this yourself? I’m interested to hear!
