Since this week has been about the celebration of Augustine’s birth, I thought I’d include a helpful resource for birth announcements.

We sent these out on postcards a few months after Augustine was born (click on the picture to enlarge the photo). I really recommend using postcards as birth announcements. You have the opportunity to use a postcard stamp (cheaper than regular stamps). As well as doubling as a thankyou note, just write in a thank-you message on the back for gifts you received, meals cooked for your family, etc. We use picnik.com to edit in the words ourselves on a picture we liked. Then used overnightprints.com (with coupon discovered on the internet) to print off 100 postcards in a glossy finish for around $30.00. Whenever you can create items yourself, it usually saves on the cost.

What “do-it yourself” tips do you have?

Thanks for reading!
