I’m pretty excited. To be vulnerable, I’m totally addicted to social networking. I love love love facebook and reading blogs and then some more facebook. Awhile back I limited myself to the number of blogs I checked a day, and now I am adding another resource to allow me to spend more time in God-honoring ways (namely: with my family, loving on my friends and community, cleaning and keeping our home, working on school, and with Jesus [read: not wasting it on pointless status updates!]).

This Christmastide

I typed a huge post for you. and managed to delete it. so instead I’ll lead you to check the song, “This Christmastide (Jessye’s Carol)” I fondly recall singing this arrangement throughout high-school around the holidays. I love that the height of the song echoes the praise and adoration for Christ as a baby- listen to the words as you reflect on His birth.

Hope your holiday is richly filled with the celebration of our Lord Jesus Christ coming to earth as a baby. We are entering our third year in Aberdeen, Scotland as Shaun finishes his PhD and Joy wraps up her Masters degree at the University of Aberdeen. Happy Half Birthday Jane!

Our dearest daughter has reached 6 months. We are so enjoying getting to know her better and see her personality blossom. She is such a gift from the Lord and we give him all the credit for being able to cherish each day with her presence.

An easy way to help the cause of adoption

There is a resurgence of interest in the adoption process and I could not be more excited to be apart. If you haven’t perked up into what is going on- RUN and pick up a copy of Russ Moore’s book, “Adopted for Life”. Written for the pews, it is a wonderful read of his personal experience with adoption as well as a parallel of adoption and the gospel.  Doctrine and scripture it’s packed with good stuff.
